This is the 3rd and last book of the trilogy. It is also the best in my opinion. The "hero" who is very flawed and very aware of it (and seems to revel in his loss and inabilities) must leave the fortress of Grimhold and journey back home to confront his past and to help his friend who has been overwhelmed by the evil armor he wears. All the main characters appear. I was not too happy about the ending, but then I wasn't a big fan of this series. It gets very much into the idea that all people are flawed in some way. Some physically, some mentally, some emotionally, etc. It is the best written of the 3 books.
