This is one of the first Jayne Ann Krentz books I ever read, more than 20 years ago. I picked it up not even knowing it was going to be a futuristic/paranormal romance. It was a keeper, and still holds up really well. The hero pilots his own spaceship (think Firefly) and the heroine hitches a ride to another planet. Krentz created an entire world, and it must have been a lot of work, because the details all mesh and make sense. Quite well written.

I was pleasantly surprised. I took me a long time to pick this book up because I didn't realize it's a futuristic book. However, once you get past the terminology, it was a very good story.
