Another pleasantly written story featuring Penny's detective and his friend (although Tony doesn't show up until about 65% of the book is over.)

Like some books set in English schools, it takes a few intuitive thoughts to realize what some terms mean (for instance "tuck," which refers to sweets and candies.)
Thankfully the cricket matches are brief.

The solution to the crime is clever and maybe relies too much on the type and amount of tuck some of the principle students bought and/or ate. And there is one passage of 13 pages (a statement by one of the masters) which even Inspector Beale notes as "tedious, laborious irrelevancies" which I wonder why the author included.

All in all, a quick and amusing read for the most part.
