OMG, I loved this book. I had a friend who had this heroine's physical issues. Her character and the hero's were so believable to me and I was really rooting for them to get together. Wonderful.

Great romance...fast read.
From the publisher...As innocent as she was unsure, Theresa Brubaker had lived much of her 25 years trapped ina body she loathed. Her precious beauty was treasured by everyone but herself--until a very special man showed her a very special love.

Theresa Brubaker is a 25-year-old woman who hates her body, hair, and skin. She is hung up on the fact that she is well-endowed, believing her "devastatingly enormous breasts" are ruining her life. When her brother brings a friend home from the Air Force on Christmas break, she is reluctant to meet him since all men just stare at her chest. But Bryan Scanlon is different. He's been warned by her brother and his eyes do not slide below her chin. Theresa and Bryan slowly become friends. She is attracted to Bryan, but doesn't know if she can actually act on her attraction.

This has to be one of the dumbest stories I've ever read. The heroine actually contemplates staying in her room for two weeks while Bryan is visiting. She whines constantly about the size of her breasts. We don't find out till the middle of the book that she is a 34DD. The way she went on and on about her problems, I thought they were dragging on the ground.

I can't believe the same author who wrote the classic MORNING GLORY wrote this drivel. Luckily, I've read several books by this author and know this is not her usual writing. My rating: 1 Star.

I loved this book, such sweet characters! It's definitely one of my favorite romances, Theresa and Brian make the perfect couple and it shows that you don't have to have the perfect body and be unbelievably beautiful to fall in love with someone or have someone fall in love with you!!!

I read this for a TBR Potluck in my online book club, The Reading Cove. I think a more telling title for this story would be SWEET MAMMORIES because since she was like 15 y/o, Theresa's suffered with her too-large-for-her-body breasts. They've caused her much pain and suffering, both emotionally and physically.

This book was published in like 1984, so a lot of things feel quite dated, including the writing style. There were pages and pages of torturous awkwardness as the build up with Theresa and Brian's relationship dragged on endlessly.

Theresa's struggles and ultimate decision regarding her breasts were interesting, but the romance was much too old-fashioned for the 1980's. Her painful self-consciousness became very annoying, and makes you wonder what Brian was so drawn to about her. We're told plenty that Theresa's a wonderful person, but all we're really shown is her deep, deep, deep insecurity about herself, which doesn't make for nearly 350 pages of interesting reading.

She is as innocent as she is unsure.... He is a proud, sensitive man whose feelings of betrayal run deep. But will a bold decisiion she makes alone destroy their love? A poweful story of passion and dreams. Like a haunting melody, it will stir your senses and your emotions. A winner!!

Very good. I'm constantly amazed by the variety of characters and situations this author can imagine.

Theresa Brubaker is the ultimate wallflower: shy, introverted and self conscious. So when her brother invites his army buddy home for Christmas, Theresa is terrified at the thought of a strange man staying at her family's home. She's been nervous around guys ever since she "blossomed" during adolescence and has never quite gotten used to the unwanted attention from the opposite sex.
But when she meets Brian, it's somehow different. He doesn't gawk or stare. What's more, he seems to like her for who she is. His gentle attention draws Theresa out of her shell, and she finds herself experiencing love for the first time. Even after his returns to the base, they correspond through letters, each one further cementing the bond between them. But a bold, courageous decision she makes alone may destroy that bond. Has Brian fallen in love with the woman she is...or the woman she could become?
