This is probably the most twisted book that I have ever read and it is hands down, my most favorite from V.C. Andrews. I am a huge VCA fan. Have been for 16 years now and this book is one that VCA herself wrote and you can tell. The imagery, the dialogue, the characters, they are all alive. VCA was a master of words and this book is no exception.

This is a stand alone book. Unlike the rest of the books under the VCA name, this is the only one that is not in a series. All the events begin and end with this book. Others are simply not needed. This book has it all. Mystery, suspense, romantic interest, and a shocking ending unlike no other. If you are a VCA fan, you MUST read this book.

My Sweet Audrina by V.C. Andrews is the mysterious story of a young girl named Audrina, who spends most of her time being a shut-in with her parents, aunt and cousin. Because of something that happened to her older sister (the First and Best Audrina), she (the Second and Inferior Audrina) cannot go to school or be around boys. Eventually Audrina starts to have somewhat of a normal life, with piano lessons, school, and a friendship with the neighbor boy, Arden, which turns into love. Yet she cannot shake her sister's death from the shadows, and realizes there is something about the First Audrina she must know.

This is the only stand-alone novel penned by Andrews. While I didn't care for the romance between the Arden and Audrina, her cousin Vera is by far the best villain ever written in the Andrews books to date. This was a book actually written by Andrews (and not her Ghostwriter), so it has that authentic sense of Gothic horror and sick, twisted family relationships her fans have come to know and love. A guilty pleasure for sure, but sometimes we all need easy reading.

This is the only V.C. Andrews book that I'm aware of that isn't a part of a series-it is an excellent book and a quick read, though it does have some mature content.

I'm not a huge V.C Andrews fan, but of all the books she wrote this was my favorite. I've read quite a few of them and years later this is the one I recommend to others to read. The story is awesome and the descriptions are great. I'm almost glad it was a stand alone because I'd hate to see it get watered down as a series.

i was a little disturbed by this novel - it is definetly vc's darkest. if you like gothics, this book has enough Dark (and Deadly) Family Secrets to fill a library.

Very good book, I usually don't stray from romance but I'm glad my friend convinced me to read this book.

Audrina Adara wanted to be as good as her sister. She knew her father could not love her as he loved her sister. Her sister was so special, so perfect- and dead. Now she will come face to face with the dangerous terrifying secret that everyone knows.

Another Andrews excellent tale.

One of the original books by the "real" VC Andrews. This story is haunting and written well before the VC ANdrews "formula" became redundant.

I think this is the only Andrews novel that is not part of a series. It wasn't bad. It is marketed as horror, but is more of a gothic mystery.

This is the darkest of all the VC Andrews books and one of the most facinating. It shows the horrors that rape can inflict on a young girl, especially when she comes from a demented family. Audrina herself will surprise you. It's a shame that VC Andrews' heirs chose to taint her great literary prowess by having a ghostwriter continue to write under her name, because those books are cheap imitations of her art.

I remember my mother reading V.C. Andrews' books when I was little. I happened to come across some at a yard sale one day and decided, what's $0.25, if I don't like the book, I'll just sell it at my own yard sale or donate it to the library (this was before I joined PaperBack Swap). This is the first book I have read.
Within the first 50 pages I knew how the book was going to end, little could I imagine all the twists and turns involved up to the last page. Definitely a page turner. A book I would read again!

This is the only V.C. Andrews story I have ever read and after reading it I want to read them all. This story was truly haunting and bizarre. The whole time you're thinking "WHAT IS GOING ON??". I felt so sorry for the girl in the story, that with every page I hoped it would get better for her. Because I was so haunted by this book its hard to say it was a great book, but it really was a GREAT BOOK. Suspenseful and full of emotion. I recommend it highly.
