One word to describe this book....TRIPE! I finally gave up half way through the book as it was going nowhere. It just kept repeating the lustful looks the star crossed lovers kept giving each other . There was no plot, actually no point to the whole story. This was certainly one credit wasted.
The main character Kari Wynne, goes through an amazing journey personally as well as professionally.
I was in the mood for something quick- fast, something that didn't take a whole lot of thinking. And I agree that some of it seemed silly and unrealistic (I guess I have come to expect that of earlier books)but overall I did enjoy it. Kind of like it served its purpose for something enjoyable that didn't take a lot of thinking- easy reading. And I do agree that Hunter did fall for Kari too quickly. But cupid can knock one off it's feet rather quickly- I've seen that done myself. What's the story? Kari Wynne is a reporter. She is married to a city councilman who at one time was well-respected throughout the city dies in a car accident. DA Hunter McKee has found some serious dirt on Kari's husband, destroying his reputation and causing doubt and anguish for Kari. Now Kari wants to find out what was true and/or false in her marriage along with the mysterious death of her husband. Having to deal closely with Hunter McKee- you know they say there is a fine line between love and hate. Well, line gets crosses from hate to passion and love
TV newscaster Kari Wynne blamed her shattered life on one man -- District Attorney Hunter McKee. Maybe he hadn't caused her husband's death, but he had smeared his reputation. Her husband had been her hero, and McKee had branded him a thief. Soon her anger towards McKee was affecting Kari's reporting and jeopardizing her job. As scandal swirled around her, Kari began a desperate search for the truth about her dead husband . . . and about a man she wanted to hate, but who made her feel wildly, passionately in love.
