Great book, great writing. This was a thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
Kate, a reporter goes to Thailand to cover a story of two missing girls finds herself personally involved as she discovers her own son, whom she hadn't heard from in awhile, was shocked as she learned he was part of her investigation.

The tale is told from different points of view of past and present which flows beautifully; the relationships of the two girls, the heartbroken parents and the involvement of the reporter and her family.

This is a sad and heartbreaking novel with a conclusion that makes you wonder what you would do!

I recommend this book wholeheartedly.

The third book in this series about journalist Kate Waters and what she will do for a story, not realizing it hits close to her own family. It's how far a mother's love will go for her child and the consequences. I liked it a lot and would recommend it.

Well written, very enthralling story of two British teens on a trip of a lifetime to Thailand. It does not go as planned. One of the reporters assigned to the story is more involved that she knows, or wants to be. Anyone with young adult children who want to travel alone overseas should (or should not, depending) read this.

It took me about 100 pages to get into this book, as each chapter focuses on a particular character...... it took me a while to figure out who was who and what was going on. Once it got going it a quick and entertaining read. My pulse wasn't pounding, but I did want to know what happened to the two girls.

I read a description of this book which stated that it is a standalone, but later learned that it is the third in a series. I wonder if it would have gotten off to a faster start for me had I read the first two?

This is the third book by Barton and I can finally give her all 5* rating, I only gave her others 3*

This is an EXCELLENT story and well written, I don't usually like the format of 'then/now' 'before/after' but this one works and isn't tedious, the story flows along good at a good pace and leaves you wanting to turn every page for more, that is what I like in a book

I did feel at times that I've read another story close to this one but it didn't matter as I was zipping through this one and that means it held my interest all the way

A good mystery with a bit of a twist at the end. It's tragic in some ways but I did want to know how it all played out.
