I am not sure how this book ever made any bestseller list, unless his book "Patriots" was A LOT better. I have read self published books downloaded from Amazon FREE than I found this one to be. That said, the story line was probably one of the best post apocalyptic story lines as it is the more probable, but the way the author bounced around from storyline to storyline and wandered with agonizing details in long unnecessary chapters, ruined what could have been an outstanding novel. It was so bad it makes me want to read "Patriots" just to see what people enjoyed in that "best seller." Sure glad I didn't pay for the book!
the writing is good but is i wanted a religeous text i would request the bible. if you like every character calling on and praising jesus every other paragraph then this book is for you . I don't dislike god but this is a book of surviving not wishful thinking. also the auther seems overly happy with his knowledge of the military and it's acronyms. i finished tree full chapters and then posted this book because i couldn't take the preaching anymore.
I really liked this book for a number of reasons. First of all is because I lived in the area where the book is mostly set and he has all the local info down exactly! Secondly, I liked it because it's something that although it would never get to the extent of the level as written in the book, it is a very possible plot with some advice that fits into today's economy while still being enjoyable fiction!
A not very interesting view of the collapse of civilization. The author doesn't give enough information, it just sounds like something he picked up at a tea party rally.
