If you attempt to watch 8 televisions at once you will have a great idea of what this book is like. Rawles skips from storyline to storyline at a breakneck pace. One page you are in the Middle East, then you are in New Mexico, then you are in Louisiana, then Michigan, etc... To make things worse the stories are not very interesting. People are buying seeds, going to Sams club, and having conversations about how bad things are. Even when people start to die you're thinking, "Who was that again?". There is no connection to the people detailed in this book.
I listened to 3 discs before I finally had to stop. The narrator does a Mexican accent that is something you would expect from your Crazy Uncle who claims not to be racist, but everyone knows he really is. It is done so poorly that you will get some laughs out of it. The funniest part is that the narrator will keep doing the accent after the character is done talking.
