As an all time fan of the Survivor show I loved reading this book that takes you back to the beginning. Rich in details about how the first season played out-in front of the cameras and behind them. I thought I knew all about the contestants from seeing the shows and reading about them, but there is much more in this book.

I loved this book, of course I also love watching Survivor. Even though I have only missed one episode out of all of them since the beginning I learned a lot that I didn't know by reading this book.
You don't just read about the contestants but also about the production crew and Jeff Probst and how everyone, not just the contestants were affected by being on an island with civilization far away. All of them were changed by the experience in some way.
You also learn about things that happened that we as the television audience never knew about. How one contestant got to Jeff so bad that he wanted him off right then!

Now that Survivor is closing in on the end of its 13th? season, it was fun to remember the thrill of watching the very first Survivor - Richard, Sue, Jenna, Kelly, Gervase, Rudy, et al, provided us with one of the best "reality" shows. Mark Burnett gives us an insiders look at how it was all done.
