This is Book 2 and Sophia's story.

I enjoyed Sophia and Book 1 much more! Book 2 was alright, just not as good or enjoyable a read for me as Book 1 was.

This was my favorite of the trilogy. While "Goddess of the Hunt", the first book in this series drew me in and made me want to read the other two books, it was this book that made this author an auto buy for me for her next trilogy. I loved Gray. Absolutely loved the way she wrote his character to be both strong and vunerable at the same time. Can't wait to read the series she has coming out this year!

Disappointing! I looked forward to reading Tessa Dare's book as I have just recently discovered her with Goddess of the Hunt. The main female character was just not likeable to me. Her reasons for doing what she did were not plausible at all. I mean we all know we are reading romances - but this was just plain impossible. The entire story took place on a boat. Overall the story was well written. I just did not like any of the people or the high seas drama.

After leaving a note dumping her fiance, Heiress Sophia Hathaway boards the Aphrodite disguised as a governess on her way to a new job. She doesn't want to marry someone she doesn't love. She wants an adventure. Benedict "Gray" Grayson has gone respectable. No longer a privateer, Gray has opened a shipping company and is traveling on the Aphrodite as the owner of the ship. His first look at Sophia leaves Gray wondering if his plundering days are behind him. But he has promised his brother, the Captain, that he will keep his hands to himself, at least until the end of the voyage.

The second book in Dare's Wanton Dairymaid series is a solid historical romance. I thought Gray was a great character. He was both commanding and vulnerable. Other than his siblings, he has never been loved. When he decides Sophia is the woman for him, he doesn't stop until he wins her over. My rating: 4 Stars.
