Usually I like Madeline Hunter's books very much, but I couldn't get interested in this one. I felt as though I had read too many of the same thing before - plain middle class spinsterish heroine is desired by wealthy, handsome, arrogant, impossibly perfect aristo. The auction house setting lent it a bit of interest, but after 100 pages or so I found myself skimming and then skipping and then setting it aside. Hunter has an excellent prose style but that's not enough to carry a romance novel. I set it aside unfinished. Maybe next time.

Very good story with good characters and an interesting plot. Its just unfortunate that I have to wait for the rest of the series.
