Although it's not usually recommended coming into a book series with Bk41, it didn't affect my enjoyment of this book. Except for the ongoing relationship of the detectives, there were no missing points from previous books to make me wonder what had happened before. I really enjoyed the writing style and the author fleshes out most of the characters admirably, even ones that only appear on a few pages. The back story concerning all the financial shenanigans isn't the most exciting plot device, but the way the detectives piece it together keeps your interest.
