A sweet story of a busy Vet that hires a woman that had an accident resulting in Brain Damage. It is a sweet story for any animal lover. The two of them find more in common than just their love of animals. But someone seems to wish they didn't when unexplained mishaps at the clinic start to point to her as the culprit. Not an overly exciting book but sweet quiet story.

I have read every book in this series and with each book I become more attached to the family. Again she wrote this story and placed real people in the story line with all their faults and promises. This was a great read and one of her more enduring stories of how love can be all that ends all. I would say if you have read other works by her then this is a must as well and if you haven't then start because you are missing out. Oh and another thing I like while this is a book in a series it can be read alone, like the others, or in the order she wrote them in. Each story focuses on a member of the family and highlights the other family members.

Very sweet book. Isaiah is a wonderful, if absent minded romantic character. Laura is great. I love books set mostly in a veterinary clinic. Catherine Anderson writes her animal characters VERY well.

I love Catherine Anderson and this book proves why. Of all her books this may just be my favorite. The sweetness of the story was incredibly endearing. You find yourself rooting for Laura and Isaiah for all the right reasons. I couldn't put it down and hated when I had to! Would highly recommend!
ok, made me want to go to the humane society and get a dog.

This was the first book I ready by Catherine Anderson and it was very good. The main characters had real issues to overcome and it was intruiging to learn more about Laura's mental disability. I like how Caterhine's characters have either physcial or emotional issues that are very true to life. This book had a sweet romance involved but also brought some tears in several sections. What sweet characters. I have since read quite a few of the Coulter Family Series, but this was my favorite.

I found this book to be very sweet and touching. I love that the heroine had a major flaw and was able to overcome all her hardships. She was an imperfect person living in a world that demands perfection.....and she was coping very well before the hero even entered the picture. This was a great weekend read. The kind of book that reminds you that everyone deserves a happy ending....not just the pretty people.

A must read
This is classic Catherine Anderson. It's a very emotional read.
For Laura Townsend the chance to once again have a "real" job would be a dream come true. Five years earlier a swimming accident left her with aphasia, and now even simple things like writing, reading, and speaking are daily challenges. Forced to give up her job as an environmental scientist, Laura supports herself by doing a variety of odd jobs, including dog walking, so she eagerly embraces the chance to become a kennel keeper. Veterinarian Isaiah Coulter actually agrees to interview Laura as a favor to his mother, but once he meets her and sees just how good she is with animals, he hires her, never expecting that he may have found more than a new kennel keeper. A quietly courageous heroine takes a chance at life and love in the latest installment in Anderson's Coulter family series.

book 6 in the coulter series
I love Catherine Anderson and all of her books!!!!! This book has such a special message to share about love, forgiveness and learning to explore new paths in life.
Laura Townsend has an accident which leaves her disabled but still able to function. She is given a chance with a job for a vet. Very touching contemporary romance. All of Anderson's books are excellent and this one is no exception -- a 5 out of 5 stars!
A truly beautiful story...

What a wonderful recommendation this book turned out to be - I couldn't put it down. I think the main reason why is because it was based around animals with a love story, so it really held my interest since I love animals. I felt like I was able to see what the main characters looked like and all the situations they were in, like Thanksgiving dinner with all of the family around. Great book! I'm going to get the rest of the books in the Coulter series - this one was soooo good!
Wonderful book !

very good book...
I was actually really put out by Ms. Anderson's heroine, a young woman with aphasia due to a traumatic brain injury. Her characterization had the young woman portrayed as SO lovely, SO kind, SO DARN NICE, that I got the impression she was overcompensating her for her (gasp) disability.
