This book is not what the cover art and marketing lead you to believe. It's about the sexual assault/gang rape of a teenage girl. I never would have started it if I'd known that. I've always liked Jen Weiner books, and think she's a good writer, but i wish I'd never picked this one up.
Give this book a 100 pages.
I always give a book a 100 pages, it took the 100 pages for this book to turn around. The first 100 were bad. I could barely make it through them. Then the story started to develop and it turned into a good book.
There seems to be a Cape Cod summer home theme.
This book, That Summer (2021), mentions a story from, Big Summer (2020).
Have not read The Summer Place (2022), so I am not sure if characters or stories will be mentioned from the two previous books in this one.

The storyline i wasn't expecting. But it was worth reading.
