I really enjoyed this book. It was the second I have read by this author and I liked this one considerably more than the first. I would recommend this book for anyone 13 or older.

Interesting book - easy read in an hour or so.
Lois Duncan is a great author for suspenseful thrillers for teens (12 & up is what Amazon suggests as the reading age). Is the main character's cousin really her cousin or an imposter? Duncan is a master at weaving interesting twists into her stories. Read this book and then watch the 1978 movie by the same title starring Linda Blair (on DVD at Amazon). Both are cult favorites.
Found this to be very interesting. I read YA books before I pass them along to young family members to be sure they are okay.
Well written story about a young girl dabbling in witchcraft.

From the cover: From the moment Julie arrivd that sumer, she seemed to seep into Rachel Bryant's life like a poison. Rachel knew she should feel sorry for her 17-year-old cousin. But why didn't Julia seem more grieved over her parents' recent deaths? Everyone else was enchanted by Julia. No one but Rachel seemed to notice Julie'a frigid stare, her womanly body, the strange possesions she took pains to hide. Rachel's normally gently little dog feared Julia from the start. What was it about her? What did she want with the Bryants? Soon all of Rachel's questions were replaced by terror as she desparately tried to bridge the gap that had sprung up betweem herself and those she cared about most.
