I bought it for the JD Robb story and it was good. Unfortunately I couldn't even get through the next two short stories. They are both horrible. Obnoxiously stupid characters, lame references to Suite 606 (the tie binding all the stories) and zero compelling plot... but after reading the reviews here I might go back and read the last story. It sounds slightly more interesting.

Once again, Nora and her girlfriends have put out another anthology.
4 stories with an odd connecting device, the idea of a Suite 606 and the time travelers from the last story, popping into the others.
The Eve Dallas story is more of what you expect from the series, no surprises here. You could miss this and not notice but if you are a fan of the series, you'll want to pick it up for completeness. A short reference to Louise's shower is the only personal note.
A ghost story from Mary Blayney is a tough read, the motivations are not at all clear and the heroine is TSTL.
The Ruth Ryan Langan story is better with a cop who is drawn into an old murder. The idea is great, but the hero turned me off at the end by getting over it all way too quickly.
The Mary Kay McComas story is last, with the time travelers that ran through the other stories. I enjoyed this one, although it would have benefited from being longer, with more adventure and a more reasonable time frame for the leads to fall in love.
Overall, average, but entertaining.

JD Robb contributes a great dark story. And there's Roarke; enough said. Love Endures is about a cheeky ghost who must right past wrongs, except he's a habitual liar. Cold Case was a creepy thriller with lust, love and mystery. Wayward Wizard was a winsome tale with great character interaction. Great read.

4 Great stories with the theme Suite 606 running through them all. I enjoyed it very much.

This is an anthology which I usually hate because the stories are too short and there is little or no character or plot development. This one was no different.
Ritual in Death by J.D. Robb was terrific but only because this is book 27.5 in a series and there were 27 other books to develop character and plot. And don't forget the steamy shower scene between Eve and Roarke - at the police station no less.
Love Endures by Mary Blayney was boring with very flat characters and a debauched dead husband now a ghost. Very dull.
Cold Case by Ruth Ryan Langan. This was short and sweet but could have been really good if the characters could have been fleshed out a little more.
Wayward Wizard by Mary Kay McComas. This is a new author to me but I'm sure I'll read her again. A good time travel story with a wizard, a mother and her son. The story takes place in four days jumping from present day to 1223 to prehistoric times to 1943 to 2060 and finally back to present day. Could have been really good with some further details to flesh out the plot.

The anthologies have sweet short stories about Lt. Dallas and are a must read by her fans. I love powerful Eve Dallas and how the complex New York crimes are solved. If you don't wanna bite her husband, don't read these books! Nora Robert's best writing is as JD Robb in this "In Death" series of some 30 stories to date. I collect all of the JD Robb books, but skip the Roberts, whose stories are not as tight as those about Lt. Eve Dallas - ass kicker! If the future of New York is like this, I fear these killers who are sneaky and complex.

It didn't dawn on me until the second story that the book had a theme between all the authors. D'OH! :-) I really enjoyed this book and it was a fast read.

Another excellent Eve Dallas novella opens this quartet, then it goes downhill on a diamond run with Blayney's blathering, manages to steady itself on a gentle plain with Langan's interesting time-travel romance which stumbles on a hidden rock in the end and falters, then schusses uneasily into McComas's wizard story into a mogul run full of ups and downs, eventually smoothing out into a nice rounding arc in the end, tying the 4 stories together neatly in a way that just manages to redeem the collection.
Robb's talent is once again used as a vehicle to bring lesser authors to light, as can be expected, but how Blayney passed editors' scrutiny with the nauseatingly wretched piece she contributed is beyond me. She must have had connections. This is the first time I've been tempted to the sacrilege of ripping out pages in a book - that would definitely have improved this volume. Langan's time travel short started off interestingly enough but fell short at the finish, but at least her writing showed promise. With McComas's strange time traveling wizard I was skeptical at first, then she caugh my interest and the clever way she tied the 4 stories together in the end managed to hold the book together even though the base premise of using "Suite 606" was rather shaky.
Robb's story garners 4 stars from me, Blayney's 0 if I could rate it that, but let's say 1 for calculating purposes, and the other two 3 stars apiece, which brings the total collection to barely 3 stars (rounding up).

Review is for RITUAL IN DEATH:
This was one of the short stories featured in the SUITE 606 anthology. Not as satisfying as the full length stories only because it's short, the story feels rushed and doesn't have all of the elements of the plot I have come to enjoy and look forward to with each Eve Dallas story. But I still enjoyed the story and the new twist of a Satanic ritual in the plot. I especially enjoy it when Eve gets to be a bad ass when interrogating the perps. I'm glad I'm not the one sitting on the other side of the table...

Have to say only got this book because of JD Robb's IN DEATH novella. That's all i read, and it was well worth it. I just dont read any of the other authors, and those titles didnt interest me. Love Nora Robert's IN DEATH SERIES....

I had never read any of the JD Robb books but the first story from her was very entertaining and forced me to look into that series. The two middle stories did not impress me nearly as much. I had to force myself through them and was almost giving up until I got to the last story which was almost as good as the first with several surprises that kind of wrapped all the stories together, which I had never seen in an anthology. This book is definitely on my recommend list.

Four short stories. I liked three but one I didn't care for. Different author for each story but recurring people and places.
