If you like the Death on Demand series this one won't disappoint, if you haven't tried them yet but like the mysteries around a bookstore theme you'll love this one.

Ok, so if you like the cozy mystery, this is it. It is my first, and I must say, I'm glad I didn't stop reading. Nice surprise twist at the end. I do prefer mystery and thrillers though, this cozy mystery genre reminds me of the Nancy Drew's (in adult form of course) that I read as a child.

A motley crew is gathering for a one-time movie star's gala Christmas/birthday bash. At Annie Darling's Death On Demand mystery bookstore, Yuletide preparations are put on hold due to murder at the bash.

"A lively tale with well-drawn characters who are credibly dysfunctional. Mystery fans will appreciate all the inside references to their favorite authors, and Hart again pays homage to Agatha Christie with her puzzle plot." -Orlando Sentinel

Sugarplum Dead is a Christmas mystery that charms, intrigues, puzzles and astounds with gentle wit and sly satire.

From back of book:

It's getting to look a lot like Christmas on the sea island of Broward's Rock, South Carolina. At the Death on Demand mystery bookstore, owner Annie Darling's Yuletide preparations have to be put on hold thanks to several rather inconvenient distractions--including murder. Across the windswept isle, in th spacious, spooky mansion of Marguerite Dumaney Ladson, a motley crew is gathering for the onetime movie star's gala Xmas/birthday bash. And when it turns deadly, it's Annie who has to prove the innnocence of the most disturbing suspect: her own deadbeat dad.
