Claire Woodson has so much to lose and so much to overcome, all the while keeping her cool and doing whatever is best for her only son, Danny. Little did she know that would mean living with the enemy- her son's biological family. The only male heir to the wealthy Louisianna McMollere family, a result of an unfair, little Danny is about to be but a pawn in a struggle of his mothers love and his deceased father's family.
It seems though that Danny's father, Carter, had not been upfront and honest with neither Claire nor his family. So many secrets buries, about to come to life and an unexpected romance finds Claire thinking that maybe what's best for Danny is best for her as well.
I found this to be not so typical of a Harlequin romance. Any parent knows that they would do anything in the world to keep their child safe- especially if that child swears he was a witness to a murder and both mother and child relying on "the enemy" to keep them safe. Claire stand up for herself and little Danny- she is not afraid to back down nor to dig for the secrets that may have saved everyone this uncomfortable visit.
Not to mention the repair work she has done to the relationshiop with Danny's Uncle Mack and his angry teenage daughter Michelle who has come to love Danny as a little brother.
