I must admit that this isn't one of my favorite books by MacAlister. But, given the setting is in turn-of-the-century London, and the culture is very different, then I could allow for that and just enjoy the silliness of the love story, as is typical with MacAlister's love stories. It is worth reading, if for nothing else, but to appreciate the social freedoms women enjoy today, and what the women before us had to go through for us to have those freedoms. I know this is a fiction story, but I am sure the events in this story are close to reality.
