FROM THE PUBLISHER

On October 16, 1991, the badly decomposed body of 11-year-old Melissa Moody was found in the woods near Boswell, Oaklahoma. She had been raped and murdered by her uncle, Jesse James Cummings. Only when one of his wives--herself a victim of his abuse--found the strength to turn against him do police get the evidence they need to put him on death row. Includes 12 pages of photos

I've read every true crime book, watched every snuff film, and have the self-proclaimed strongest stomach...this is the first piece of work that has EVER made my stomach turn. Definitely within the top 3 most graphic and horrifying true crime books I have ever read, things he does are absolutely unimaginable, and he just has NO remorse in him whatsoever. EXTREMELY well written and well research, the author has an engaging way of writing, not just boring facts being stated. Highly recommended!!

If you like true crime this is a really good book. I thought it was well written and even though it was hard to read at times (due to his depravity) glad I finished it. Hard to understand a monster like this.

This man was the devil on earth. The pain and horror his family survived is unbelievable. Not a book for people with a weak stomach. His actions made me sick!

It's always hard to believe there are such depraved monsters out there living right in the midst of us.

Found it sad that people stay in relationships that are horrible not only for themselves, but their children.

What a sorry excuse for a man. He idolized Charles Manson, and wanted to be just like him. At one point in time, he had two wives and a girlfriend living with him. He beat them, prostituted them, beat and molested their children, even raped their loved ones and made them watch. They were too terrified to stand up to him. Eventually they would kill for him. He pretty well succeeded in living up to Manson's standards.

From the back cover - On October 16, 1991, the badly decomposed body of an eleven-year-old girl was found in the woods near Boswell, Oklahoma. But before little Melissa Moody died an unspeakable death, she had experienced cruelty and depravity that defies belief: a systematic campaign of insane terror carried out by her own uncle, a twisted sociopath who made dozens of other innocents like her suffer a fate worse than death.
