it's been awhile since i read this, but it's one that i've never forgotten the title to. i really enjoyed it. it's a great book for teens, humor and understanding of their "mental position" abound.

Life is unfair for 14-year-old Lauren Allen, and now there's a way to do something about it. Enrolling in a new elective law class, she looks forward to learning more about her legal rights and options. Of course, life is never simple for teens, and Paula Danziger's adolescent insights and wry humor come through clearly in this presentation. Danziger's uneven voice may not appeal to some adults, but teens and preteens will be able to identify with every word.

I quite enjoyed this book back when I was in the target audience for it. In fact, it was once one of my favorites. I've grown out of it now (I'm 22), but would definitely recommend it for pre-teen readers.

This is a fabulous book for the middle school to early high school crowd. Danzinger had a wonderful sense of what it is like to be a young teen and a great sense of humor besides. I grew up loving this book, even though it was written five years before I was born! I would recommend it for any girl who loves to read (and often feels her parents, friends and family "just don't get it".)
