This is the first of a new cozy series for me. Katie is a puzzle enthusiast who grew up spending time at a puzzle museum with an older gentleman. She knows works in DC in one of those hush, hush math labs. The older gentleman who is the curator of the museum writes and asks her to come home quickly. When she gets there she finds the bank is about to foreclose on his home and the museum. He says he made the mortgage payments but there is no record of them. While she's trying to find out where the payments went, she comes into the museum and finds her old friend dead. Now she not only has the mystery of the missing payments to solve but also a murder to solve. If you're a sudoku fan, there's a puzzle with each chapter to solve. If not, it's still an interesting book to read. I read this one this afternoon and looking forward to reading book two.....of course there may have been seeds for a romance to bloom and there's also a middle school age boy who had become friends with the old man who may be needing a new home. Just a couple things to carry over into the next book.
