Very engrossing story about a little remembered hurricane. Lots of history about the area is also contained in the book and although there is a lot of statistics, interest is held and the writing never becomes boring -- recommend.

Gives great understanding how the 1938 Hurricane changed the face of the East Coast. It also has great personal accounts of those who lived throught it and accounts from the weather forcasters who saw it coming from Florida to Washington D.C.
It was a great read.

Engrossing, well-written account of one of the worse natural disasters in the history of the U.S., the hurricane that caught New Englanders by surprise in 1938. A real page turner.

This is a very interesting book. The author does a good job of covering the stories of those affected by this disaster and the threat of a rogue hurricane does a great job keeping the suspense and action moving.
