Very good book. Set in the 1970's, takes place over a weekend. This book was found in the author's refrigerator after her death, that in itself piqued my interest. Well written, good character development, I enjoyed it very much, wish my frig harbored something like this!
Wolff's seventh novel, Sudden Rain, rapidly transcended me back to the 1970's. I'm not sure if I've read the book before or it was just the time frame of the book that made it all seem very familiar to me. I was a bit surprised to see the time frame of the story only evolves over a long weekend. But she pulls it off, and the story flows well - it almost seems like not much is happening in this book, but it's just that that reminds me of daily family life. I found it a very enjoyable read.
