I really enjoyed this book. Richard Cohen does a great job of letting people speak from their own experience, but he is not afraid to challenge them in certain areas. By the time this book was written, he had known each person for years, and that familiarity and intimacy is reflected in the pages. This book really puts you in the shoes of people with different illnesses and makes you think about not only their experience, but how you might think/feel in their shoes. It is an eye-opening book in terms of the suffering all around us, and how incredibly brave and strong human beings can be. I highly recommend it.
