I believe this is the first in the series about Stanley Hastings, the no gun, no guts, no gumshoes New York PI. Great fun as Stanley, his boss, a tough by-the-book police officer, and sundry others race around duplicating efforts trying to discover who keeps knocking off Stanley's clients just before he keeps his appointments with them. You think you know who early on. You do. And you don't.
This was a very enjoyable book. It is funny and an easy read. I definitely will order more of this author.
This is the fourth book in Hall's Stanley Hastings mysteries which are still being written in 2010. Stanley's job as a private eye working for an ambulance chasing attorney gets him in trouble again as several of the clients are discovered "dead on his arrival". Another fast moving, easy-reading mystery --I love the humor in these books. Read and enjoy. Bobbi Myers
