Helpful Score: 1
I pre-order all of Harlan Coben's standalone thrillers, and lately they have been hit and miss. This one has an interesting premise: The Stranger somehow knows deep dark secrets, and reveals them to the secret keepers for money and to satisfy some strange principle about secrets are bad. Most of Coben's books are somewhat confusing at times but things are brought together neatly in the end. This was true with The Stranger, but there was not enough suspense to keep me fully engaged. The ending was a bit over the top too.
Normally I start reading a book by Coben and I can't put it down - this one I read over a few days.

I enjoyed this latest installment from Harlan Coben. Once again, his writing and plot keeps you hooked until the end. His characters seem like people you know and are very believable. If you are a fan of Coben's writing, then don't miss this one as Harlan hardly disappoints!
Absolutely fabulous!!!! Harlan Coben is one of my favorites, but he outdoes himself here. I read this book in one day, I couldn't put it down. The ending was great and I will not spoil it for other readers, but trust me, you want to read this book!
Good read
Intense and mind blowing. How does this happen and how does it end? Great fast paced read. Hang on and wait for it.
Good read
I was disappointed with this Coben book, as I didn't find it exciting and thrilling as I do with most of his books. It was just a so so story, engrossing at times, but not one to get too excited about.
good story
Mediocre is high praise for this book. I am not a regular Harlan Coben fan, so perhaps I just don't like his style.
Suspenseful book. Recommend
I enjoyed this, although maybe a bit slower-moving in the suspense-building than others by this author. The story was engrossing, though, and the resolution / ending didn't seem rushed.
Another Coben with a good twisty plot!!!!
I have been in such a reading rut lately and I'm not sure if it was me or my book selections, but "The Stranger" definitely let me escape the rut.
Adam Price is living what be believes is the good life. Beautiful wife and two wonderful kids until one day a stranger appears and reveals a secret about his wife. A secret that could bring their marriage to its knees or does Adam ignore it and just continue on with their life as it is?
Adam's family isn't the only one that has their lives interrupted by the stranger and their revelations. Other families have to also come to terms with these cold hard truths. How will they respond and how it effect their lives?
In the end though the story focuses more on Adam Price's decision and how it will impact the life of his family. Why is the stranger going around revealing the darkest secrets of some? How did this person to know these secrets? How does it all end?
Harlan Coben once again spins a great tale and I knew by going to read one of his books he'd allow me to escape the rut I was in. Definitely recommend "The Stranger" as its another riveting page turner by Coben.

I really liked this one in the end! It didn't seem quite as good (or fast paced) as most of Coben's thrillers, but I still couldn't stop reading it. And a few things were predictable, but he managed to surprise me with some twists I didn't see coming. I do recommend!
I wasn't sure about this one and almost put it aside, it takes until about page 100 or so to finally get to a point that something is happening.
Those first 100 pages just seemed useless, after 'the stranger' approached Adam it just seemed to drag and drag but hey, stick with it because then other things start to happen and it keeps you reading.

I really enjoyed this book, Grabbed my attention right away. A good story with a good ending not necessarily one I liked but it made sense.. Great read.....
Typical Coben, great twists and turns. Keeps you guessing. Would recommend!
