Merry MacKenzie is finally moving out on her own; she's spent the last several years helping to raise her younger brother after her mom died. She can't wait to have some fun! She's rented a fabulous apartment and the landlord is a real hunk. Too bad she doesn't know much about baseball since he is an all-star pitcher.

Jason Falco invested in an old brownstone, something to sink his money in. He doesn't have to worry about money, and he doesn't want his new location known to the papparrazi. He just wants some quiet time and a small break from the women who can't seem to keep their eyes or hands off of him.

Jason finds immediately attracted to Merry and asks her out, but she has to decline because of her night shift at the hospital. Jason can't fathom why she would turn him down, so he sets to woo her, and before long the two are happy and carefree on a light romance.

But Merry gets attacked, and strange happenings are occurring in the apartment building. There's a vampire living in the basement, a werewolf upstairs, and a ghost in an empty apartment. And to top it all off, Jason is hiding something. Throw in the tabloids and it is one crazy circus!

Strange Neighbors is a light-hearted romp that romance and paranormal lovers are sure to enjoy. Chad, the ghost, had me in stitches many times, he's so sarcastic! The romance between Merry and Jason blossoms into full-blown passion and the neighbors are unique and charismatic characters - what a hoot!

This was a cute story that was light and easy to read. I loved the characters who lived in the apartment building and was interested enough to want to read more about them. Having said this, I don't know if I want to read anymore books in the series, though, because the HUGE drawback to this book was Jason's aunt!!! She was so so so annoying that I cringed and wanted to throw the book away every time she came into the picture - which, unfortunately, was way too often. She was like Gladys Kravitz from Bewitched (another character I strongly dislike). If you have the patience to tolerate a nosy, irritating, ridiculous busybody who cannot respect boundaries (what made it worse is that no one put a stop to it and seemed to think it was her right to infringe upon their privacy) with no redeeming qualities, then you could probably enjoy the book. Otherwise, I'd recommend finding another cute, light romance to spend your time on.

Poorly paced, immature, and overall a waste of time. I wish I hadn't read the whole thing.

The defining moment of this book included an exchange between the main character and her love interest in which they go "eeeeeeeeww! Tee-hee-hee" because he heard 'sit on your face' as 's#%t on your face'.

I enjoyed the romance between Jason and Merry but his aunt is a total whack-job and annoying as hell. And I could certainly have done without the ghost in the apartment complex who wanted his killers found and didn't let up about it. Very tedious and done-right boring. An ok series but nothing special.
