Interesting presentation of a little known story wrapped in the history of the area and the lives and customs of the inhabitants of that locale and period. A must read for anyone interested in SW American History.

Published in 1971. Don't let the title fool you - The mountain and mine are just springboards to a very eclectic and interesting study of a lot of history of this area.

I really enjoyed this book. It tells the history of the Superstition Mountain from the very first, beginning with the story of on of the spaniards who came there first. If you like this type of story you will enjoy this book.

This is a TRUE best read on the American Indians and the West. It is the best book that I have read on this subject. Humans are greedy when it comes to buried treasure. A rumor was started that there was A TREASURE OF pure gold buried in a vein of Rose quartz on Superstition Mountain In Arizona. Many treasure hunters have came and went on this legendary mountain.

This book is an absolute must read for anyone interested in the story of Superstition Mountain or even the history of Arizona. This is a true story of murder, mystery, greed, romance, hardships. and it is a true book..This book is so interesting that I would read it again.
