At night it was still raining hard. Christina sat on the couch, her legs perched up on the coffe table, with a big blue quilt around her. In her hands was the book she was so deeply drowned in. But, still being in her book, her head flicked up if she thought she heard an unsteady sound. Down the hall, Jordan was getting ready for bed, careful not to wake up Micah in the other room. Micah, who was sleeping hard, occasionaly let out small murmering noises that came from deep within his dreams. Clouds gathered around tightly tgether in the sky, pouring rain. The house was almost silent, with only the sound of the old turning pages in Christina's book. Pattering rain was the sound of comfort and safety from on the rooftop. The tremble of clouds reminded them to stay warm and the outside melody of silence kept thier hearts warm and thoughts clear. Fire flickered and cracked in the fireplace, keeping the room lit along with the old glowing lamps. The lamps cast an old yellow glow, that flickered along with the fire. Suddenly, the rain broke to lightning, and an amazing crack and a beautiful, elagant flash fluttered through the house.
From her room, Cassie started crying, as though in pain. Christina got up quickly and head to her daughters room. She peered over the crib. Cassie was red-faced, and looked very scared. Carefully she picked Cassie up, and quietly sung, trying to calm her.

Sleep, baby, sleep,
Life is long and Love is sweet
And the moon will wait for thee,
all the world to sing,
Time to look up out and know,
Oh, the shadows come and go,
How the breeze,
stirs the trees,
How the lilies grow.

Then she paused, to see if Cassie had settled down. She fussed some more and Chritina just held her. Leaning against the door frame, Jared listened to his wife sing Casssie asleep. Here and there, Cassie gave a faint whimper to show she was still upset, but Christina stayed and rocked her.
"Dad?" Jared turned around. Jordan was in front of him, the dark rain giving his face a dark look. "Can you read me a book?" ha asked, a tiny tremble in his voice. Jared smiled and walked with Jordan to his room.
