Black magic everywhere in this episode, and it doesn't make for comfortable reading. Of course every book in this series ends up with a high body count even as our heroes prevail, and thankfully Briggs does not go into a lot of detail. Some stories are darker than others though, and this one - it was the animal torture that really got to me, and Mercy's dream later. That was really, really dark. As in the rest of the series there's not a dull moment. Especially liked the zombie miniature goats (everyone does), and Wulfe at the end. Wulfe...yeah that's going to be interesting. A few other really interesting events - the goblin king's revelation to Mercy in the beginning, Sherwood Post, and then Zee and Tad have put themselves in a potentially deadly spot. I did not understand the dragon though, but I guess Coyote is not supposed to be logical or consistent.
