If you like the TV show Mad Men, you'll love Cheever. Fun little morality tales about working stiffs in NYC, summering in Nantucket, and expats in Italy. There's always an unusual twist to the stories, and it draws you back to the time of fedoras, cigarettes, martinis and Old Fashioneds.

Cheever was definitely one of our finest storytellers. I particularly love "The Swimmer".
