Hilarious, hysterical, giggleworthy, riotous, amusing, FUNNY, FUNNY, FUNNY!!!!!
Have I made myself clear? This book was easily the funniest book I've read in a LONG time. The first chapter had me in stitches, and I laughed out loud consistently through the rest of the book as well.
Critical reviews have compared Celia Rivenbark to Dave Barry; I'd say that sounds about right - except I can relate to her better than I can relate to him.
In any event, this author is a rare, true talent and I can't wait to get my hands on more of her books. This one is going on my keeper shelf, for sure. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I found a lot of the things she talked about to be funny but I felt like there was just a little bit to much sarcasim in the book. If you are a mother with kids you can relate to much in the book. If you are from the south, then you REALLY can relate. Good for a few chuckles.

Really, really, laugh your butt off funny. I read and laughed out loud through most of this book. I'm telling you if this author were my next door neighbor, I'd not get anything done. I'd spend all my time listening to her talk. She is hilarious, and so much of what she says is true!!!. Loved this bbok.

Okay, so, I am a "Yankee" who went to college in Kentucky, which Ms. Rivenbark would probably dub a "border state" as opposed to the true South. My roommate and best friend, however, was an Alabama gal whose Mom made the best sweet tea in the country and who began a launch into gossip with the patented Southern phrase "I don't mean to be ugly, but . . . " This book not only brings me back to my 4-years of college in the South and all the cultural bizarritudes that I witnessed in the name of being "Southern," but it is also laugh-out-loud funny for a working mother who aspires to be a "slacker Mom" and is also a (self-acclaimed) expert in pop culture and politics. Way to go, Celia! I can't wait to read your other 2 books.

Freaking awesome! This was the funniest book I've read in years! I read one of her others after this and it was good but not as good as this- this is a must-read for anyone who has a good sense of humor!

Celia Rivenbark is living parts of my life! Found myself laughing out loud quite a few times - similar to Laurie Notaro for southerners with kids. If you have read several of her books there are some common phrases and themes, but overall, I really enjoyed this book!

Another funny book from Celia Rivenbark.Alot of it hit close to home.I could relate to what she was saying .If your looking for a funny book then this one is it.A very fast read.

Celia Rivenbark is truly one of the funniest women on this planet. If you are from the South, or know someone who is, or just want to get a candid look at the South, Rivenbark is the author to read. I find myself laughing out loud many times throughout this book. This book was a very quick read and I found myself wanting more at the end.
