Wow! I absolutely love Eskens' writing! This one takes us into Lila's past and we learn so much more about her in the present. As he has done with every single book he has written he makes these characters become a part of our hearts. This was intense and at times I was filled with dread. I experienced a whole range of emotions but in the end I wanted to shout for joy, raise a fist to the sky and give Lila a big hug. I cannot wait for whatever Mr. Eskens writes next!
