Theo Colborn, who recently passed away, is in many ways Rachel Carson's intellectual heir -- and every bit as prophetic about the future perils to human health, wildlife, and the environment from use and overuse of synthetic chemicals untested for safety. It is written in plain English so you don't need to be a scientist to understand or enjoy the read. I highly recommend it.
