When I read Chicken Shack and enjoyed it so thoroughly, I immediately set off on the second. It was terrific, too (When the Stars Fall). Unfortunately, however, this third book pivoted from being a great mystery to taking time to develop Jenny and Cutter (for a future book). As a result, the storyline got crowded between the reality show about The Big House, problems with the in-laws, ghosts, and secret passages, a growing relationship between Madison and Brash, and a bizarre mystery. Unfortunately, keeping all these subplots going also diluted the story's punch.
