Pretty good...almost as good as the first, Blackbird. Stayed up way to late reading this one just to finish it! Would be interested in hearing more of Jennifer Lauck's story and how she is doing now.

Second series of Jennifer Laucks books on her life as a child abuse vicim. The first book was alittle better, but you have to read this book as it continues with her life from 12 yrs on

Second half of Blackbird, but you don't have to read that first to understand this book. This is a memoir that is heartbreaking and inspiring. Beautiful read. You will fall in lve with Ms. Lauck.

Jennifer Lauck at her best in describing the second half of her incredible life story, just as good as the first. Makes you want to reach out and take her home!

This is a very good book. It's the sequel to Blackbird: A Childhood Lost and Found.

Good continuing story from Blackbird

"Still Waters" starts exactly where "Blackbird" stops. I actually liked the second book better, maybe because Jennifer is older and it felt more relatable to me. I am amazed that Jennifer Lauck was able to overcome her many difficulties growing up and go on to write about them. Hopefully, these books will be an inspiration to others with difficult childhoods.

Great sequel to Blackbird. I was really moved by Jennifer's story. Hard to image all these things actually happened. I highly recommend this book, but read Blackbird first!

I read the first book and was fascinated by the author's telling of her childhood. Although very sad and sometimes disturbing, Ms. Lauck' fierce spirit keeps this book from being too depressing. The author is a true survivor. I enjoyed both books, they were very hard to put down. Recommend highly to anyone who enjoys people stories.

I thought this book was better than her first. Having grown up in a loving home, I can only imagine what children of abuse and neglect go through.

I liked the narrative style better in this memoir than in Blackbird, but I did not love this book. The first few chapters were a satisfying conclusion to Blackbird, but the second half of the book was unfocused and little was revealed. I thought the last chapter -- in which she investigates the last days of her brother's life -- was leading up to more of her own story, but it did not pan out. If I wrote my own story, it would probably sound pretty much like this, which is why, unless something absolutely thrilling happens to me, I will not write a memoir.

The author herself says she did not like this book, since it was rushed. She urges the reader to skip it and instead buy the "true sequel," Found. I think I'll pass.

Part 2 of Blackbird. Jennifer becoming a teenager and women and her struggles because of her childhood. After reading Blackbird, I couldn't wait to read Still Waters.
