I've tried 3 other books by Hiebert and didn't like any of them so this my last one.
I didn't get very far into this at all, first let me update you on the length of the book,529 pages which about 300 of them are boredom, No I didn't finish it, I found the lead character, Leah, a very poor example of a good detective and why would a small town need a detective? The dialogue was just distasteful most of the time and the stab at trying to sound 'southern' was just irritating.
As I've reviewed many books I have to say again---pages and pages of unnecessary descriptions turn me off! and send me on a skipping and skimming spree, dumb characters just turn me off and I forget them and move on, this is one of those books.
If you read Amazon review the #3 is the highest but yet when you read them they all read like they should be just a #2 rating.
I'd say skip this one and don't give Hiebert the impression that he is a good writer---he's not!
