This is the second story of The Gatherers, and not my favorite. Julian's story was more informative about what the gatherers truly are. If you have not read Hunting Julian, you will not understand the world they live in. And there is not much "set up" in this one. This story is solely about Kathryn saving Adrian....from himself. I enjoyed the love story between the two, but there just wasn't a "spark" in this one. Nice story overall, but not a keepsake book. This book just seemed to be a bridge to maybe a new world Frank is taking us to??? Hope so, she has quite an imagination. The worlds she creates are like nothing i have ever read. It is definitely NOT your usual paranormal romance.

Jacquelyn Frank seems to be reaching with this last series. It's like she ran out of ideas and decided to combine two or three other story lines into one. It took a lot for me to become interested in this book and even then I had to force myself to finish it. Basically it's a Beauty & the Beast story. Nothing is left to guess and the climatic part is over in about a page and a half. Book one was much better!

I definitely enjoyed this book, but at the same time I wasn't very impressed with Adrian's charater. I love the world in which Frank has created for this series, but the love story was a bit strange in my opinion. I thought that it was a bit unrealistic for Kathryn to fall for Adrian. Besides that, this book was entertaining and I will read the next book. However, I am hoping it is a marked improvement from this one.

I put this one off as long as possible because I hate to wait between her books. I think this is another great read from Frank, it takes place in the Barrens for the most part so I needed a bit of a refresher from the last book. This new series is not my favorite but it was still very steamy and enjoyable.

Let me start by saying I love reading, even if a book is terrible I'll at least flip through it to see what happens. I could not finish this book, I might have read a third of it, and I didn't care at all what happened. I just could not get interested in the story at all. The story bored me, and hero and heroine annoyed me. Now I have read other of Frank's books. I loved the Nightwalker series. The Shadowdwellers series was alright but not up to the same standards as the Nightwalkers. This Gatherers series is just terrible. I honestly don't know if I'll read any more new books by Franks, her writing seems to be going downhill.

I have read all of Jacquelyn Frank's books to date and cannot get enough. All of her books are about other dimensions surrounding the real world we live in. Stealing Kathryn continues on into the Beneath with one of it's darkest Guardians, Adrian, who gathers energy from nightmares to feed his people. You should read Book one before this, however, to understand what the Beneath is and why there are gatherers. If I didn't have to work, I would have read it in one sitting. I cannot wait until book 3 in this series. There are 4 more Guardians and 5 of the Ampliphi (like Elders) I would like to read about.
So much fun...I laughed, I cried!!! Lovely.
