Very interesting trip memoir, but more than that - a discernment of what it means to be positive about one's ideals. I do not ordinarily like history, but the passages of finding out why certain idealistically named hamlets in American were named what they were named was fascinating. The best parts for me, though, were the litany of interesting people met along the journey, and the ways that the author incorporated his own quests for ideals into the narrative. Good read.
