This was one of the first financial books I ever read. My dad had read it and then gave it to me to read, even though I was only in my early 20s. It doesn't matter what your age is, this book is full of really great basic financial information.

This book contains wise information but it's very dated in places (pre-recession). For example, it talks of buying homes with no money down and making a mint. But the nuts & bolts information about the kind of money it will take to retire and how to get there in your 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond is STILL INVALUABLE. It also talks of how to balance your investments so as not to have all of "your eggs in one basket." The author is kind of a cheeseball though and he sounds pretty impressed with himself. Just ignore him and benefit from the info.
