This was a fun space romp. Sometimes a bit over the top ridiculous but fun nonetheless. Enjoyed sharing this adventure with this crazy crew.

Starship Grifters is a quick fun read that I devoured in a little over a day.

You've never met anyone Like Rex Nihilo; grifter, cad, manipulator extraordinaire. No risk is too big, no lie too small. I doubt he'd get out of bed for anything less than a full scale catastrophe. The inside of his mind is a convoluted place. Don't even try to get inside his head. You'd need a Minator-sized ball of twine and a platoon of marines to make your way back out.

He's the kind of guy you could spend an enjoyable evening at the pub with. But don't. Rex could talk a nun out of the Widows and Orphans fund and have her think it was her idea to begin with. Of course with his luck said fund would consist of 12 and a half credits. But Rex is bad with numbers so he doesn't sweat the small stuff. (His most recent endeavor netted him 837 quintillion Chicolinin hexapennies. An enormous pile of coins that might buy him a cheap martini) He doesn't sweat the details either. He's had his memories repressed (on purpose) so many times he doesn't let a little thing like absent logic or lack of planning get in the way of a good con, or a chance to win a planet in a high stakes poker game.

Like the one he just won. Except in true Rex Nihilo tradition, his windfall comes with a truck-load of attached debt, 1.6 Billion credits worth. Never one to let the facts interfere with his plans Rex launches a plan to cover his gargantuan debt. Which immediately hits a snag that is complicated by an evil overlord, a soulless bureaucracy, a lunatic inventor, a rebellion, a princess and several Imbecilic less than bright rebels.

Not a problem for Rex. if at first you don't succeed.......lie lie again.

I snorted and chuckled and generally laughed my fanny off all the way through this book. If you like a good farce you probably will too.
