GREAT book it's very exciting and I loved it! It only took me 2 hours to read it. I think most kids should read it and book lovers will love this book.

One of my all time faves! I must have read this book a dozen times when I was a little girl. Sally was a character I just fell in love with, and as a child really related to. This is a great story about growing up.
Character worries about fitting in at school and new community.
Set in 1947, ten-year old Sally has moved from New Jersey to Miami Beach with her mother, brother and grandmother.
Sally, who admires movie stars Esther Williams and Margaret O'Brien, has a great imagination and is making up stories involving her, her neighbors and friends/family. She's convinced that Mr Zavodsky, an elderly neighbor, is Hilter living in Miami Beach under an assumed name.
Funny and poignant, this is Judy Blume at her best. I loved this book as a child and reading it now as an adult, I find even deeper meaning in it. (Now all the New Jersey references make sense to me -- had no clue about them living out in the midwest!) A wonderful book that remains my favourite Judy Blume book.
