Helpful Score: 1
Starfire is the third full length novel in the Demonslayer series and it picks up where Crystal Dreams left off. Selyn is found near death in the caverns after she is brutally beaten by one of the guards. Roland, carrier of crystal gets her help in the form of a local vet in the Earth Dimension, Dawson Buck.
Dawson has been helping Alton, Ginny, Dax & Eddy in their fight against demons. He works tirelessly all night trying to save Selyn and with the help of Willows healing magic, Selyn makes it through the night. Dawson is stunned at the intense feelings he has for Selyn, even though he just met her.
Selyn is a brave warrior but she is wary of men because they have never treated her kindly. She wants to trust Dawson but just doesnt know if she can. She has vowed revenge for all of the forgotten ones but revenge quickly turns into something else.
Together this small band will take on the entire Lemurian council and a world filled with demons. Will they be able to save both Lemuria and Earth from the demons? With the help of the forgotten ones and a leader that everyone thought was dead, they are going to try.
I loved everything about this book. The story flowed effortless and kept me entertained the whole time. The characters were interesting and complex that dealt with real life issues, along with a bunch of demons. I loved that the story of Dawson and Selyn was not overshadowed by the previous characters but enhanced by them. The reasoning behind the actions of Altons father finally made sense after I read this book.
There was so much going on that its hard to pick any single scene that was my favorite. The scene with Artigos the Just and the Forgotten was moving, the scene with Dawson and Selyn fighting about broke my heart.
I cant wait to read the final book in this series to see how it all ends. I want the Demon King dead but I have a feeling he is going to wreak lots of havoc in the next book too.
Overall I really enjoyed Starfire and give it 4½ Flaming Hearts.
