This book has an interesting take on the Star Wars universe. The primary characters are a group of Imperial Stormtroopers who find themselves as outlaws to the Empire but still hold true to their oath to protect the Empire and its citizens. As opposed to the usual portrayal of Stormtroopers as drones of the Empire good only for Rebels to use for target practice, these Stormtroopers are full characters who have a conscience and do think some things that the Empire does are not correct while still being patriots who are willing to fight and die for the betterment of the Empire.

Set between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, the big three (Luke, Han, and Leia) are in the book but the main focus of the narrative is definitely from the Imperial perspective following the destruction of the Death Star. Take a read if you are looking to see things from the Imperial side and gain a more rounded perspective on the Star Wars universe.
