classic Laymon!!! If you like good, scary, VERY graphic horror, you will love Laymon.THe Stake is not your classic vampire tale, but is a very good fireside read..with all the lights, the door double-bolted and the dobermans off the leash...

If you're a fan of Richard Laymon then this book won't disappoint you. It's got it's share of suspense, horror, and of course sex. It's a rather lengthy book at over 500 pages but don't let that stop you. It's a real page turner. I finished it in record time.

Book starts off with a bang, gets really boring and pretty stupid and then ends with another bang. Without being too wordy, that sums it up. I have grown to know that Laymon is one of those authors that can keep my interest but rarely does he satisfy me. He annoys me, like a fly buzzing around that you just can't catch. This experience was no different.
