A babe appears on the doorstep of an old man. The baby, a boy, has no note attached but grows up helping the man who sees the future. When a knight stops to visit Terrance is urged to go with him thereby becoming his squire. This is his story, how he discovers who he is, gets to know Gwain, meets Morgause, and goes on a quest with Sir Morgain. It's a good story for the YA genre. Morris has written an entire series along this line and this, the first, delights this age group. He does it well.
