Traveling to Egypt is a dream come true for Erica Baron. An Egyptologist, she longs to walk among the temples and monuments of its long-dead civilizations. But when she stumbles upon a clue to a legendary treasure, the most fearful curse of the ancient world and the most savage menace of the modern one threaten to destroy her....Sphinx.

This is a different type of book for Robin Cook, it takes him away from his Medical thriller realm. This book is about an Egyptologist named Erica Baron and her search for ancient treasures in the Valley of the Kings. This story is full of action and intrigue. One of Robin Cook\'s more under-rated books. I really enjoyed it. This particular edition of this book is a hardback Book Club Edition. The dust jacket is worn.

I'm still not 100% sure how I felt about this book. The last 50 pages were crazy and un-put-downable. The other 250 pages or so were good, but not really gripping for me. Compared to others I've read recently, this one was shorter, but took me longer to read. I didn't have to force myself, but I guess all the history and detail made it too much like work :) But it was def a worth it ending and I would read it again.
