Good, not a challenging read.

This is written by a Christian author. She writes an interesting and enjoyable fast-paced mystery that will appeal to anyone that is looking for a great read without graphic violence, language or sex. Very entertaining and well worth!
Helpful Score: 2
Not as good as the first one in the series. The writing is choppy, too many stories going on at once and much too long. Cade kills a man then goes missing, Sadie is lying and sneaking out, a new residents of Harbor House has her baby stolen in the hospital, and Blair takes the law into her own hands.

I love the suspense in this book! Terri Blackstock writes an absorbing thriller of a book. An excellent Christian story.

I have read Terri Blackstock "First Light series" and loved it. This was really different. I liked it, althogh it took me a few pages to get into it, but then I was hooked. There was a body that walked out in front of the Sherrif's car, and that starts the whole mystery during a rainstorm.
Book 2 of the Cape Refuge series. Police chief disappears after having accidentally run down a pedestrian. Later it is discovered the victim was also shot. His friends don't believe the bad press is getting and try to find him.
I love this series, I hated to see it end. Read them all!
A great sequal to the first in the series.
I like, lets continue. Terri Blackstock is a good writer.
excellent reading loved it
I love these series of books!!! If you love mystery and suspense, but don't like the blood and gore you will like these books. Also, has a religious base to it. Very enjoyable read.
A missing Police Chief. Did Chief Cade run off to elope . . . or has he met with foul play? The body in the morgue had no ID. No one knew who he was or where he came from when he walked out in front of Cade's car. And when Cade learns he had a gunshot wound before he was struck, finding his identity becomes even more urgent. Then Cade vanishes. Authorities discover the victim's name, and the woman Cade was last seen with turns out to have been the dead man's wife. Speculation abounds about Cade's relationship to the woman and his part in the victim's death. His disappearance makes him look even more suspicious. But Blair Owens doesn't believe the rumors. Something has happened to Cade, and she's determined to find him. Saving Cade's life will take faith in a God whom Blair has always doubted---but he may be her only hope.

Book 2 of the Cape Refuge Series - as always - super story
I loved this second book in the Cape Refuge series. It really keeps you on edge even with a spiritual overtone. Blair is the main character in this book and she is just a super person. Lots of scripture, romance and a thought provoking story. Terri Blackstock is a great author.
Racing to redirect traffic from a downed power line Chief Cade hits a man who walks in front of his car. Chief Cade disappears. I really enjoy Mrs. Blackstock's stories and characters and this was now exception. Very good story.
Great book!
These books by Terri Blackstock are marvelous!
This is book two of the capre refuge series. Terri Blackstock writes well and the book was good.
This book 2 is great! Terri knows how to captivate her readers while still adhering to God's principles!
Police Chief Cade disappears after hitting and killing a man with his car. Without a trace, without a note, without taking clothes or his car or money, he is gone. When a witness says she saw Cade getting into a blue Buick with a woman before his disappearance, the newspapers report that Cade left town to be with her. Blair knows it doesnt make sense for Cade to leave without word for any reason. The dead man is identified, and it soon becomes clear that the woman Cade was seen with was the wife of the dead man. Newspapers begin to ask hard questions. Was the Cape Refuge Chief of Police having an affair with this woman? Did he deliberately kill her husband, then make it look like an accident? When the police department receives a handwritten note from Cade that he has run off to get married to a woman hes kept secret, everyone breathes a sigh of relief. But Blair notices his unusual signature: Matt Cade. Cade never goes by his first name, and he especially never calls himself Matt. She thinks its a signal from him that the contents of the note are false. Meanwhile, around the south, there are news reports about babies being kidnapped from area hospitals. When a ransom call comes to Hanover House from the babys kidnapper, they are all shocked to see that the phone it is traced to is Cades cell phone. Is he involved in the babies disappearance? Is that why hes disappeared?
Always enjoy Terri Blackstock, and this one
